MLK Day of Service

Every year on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, instead of taking the day off, our students come together in the spirit of service. This year, we focused on showing love to our own geographic neighborhood. Our students kicked off their 2026 “100 Bags of Trash” challenge by heading out to clean up the areas surrounding our campus, taking pride in caring for the spaces they move through every day. We also began work on two community benches that will eventually be installed around Chattanooga through the Chattanooga Urbanist Society. We did small projects with a big impact on connection and place-making.

Service and community engagement are woven into the fabric of our school, but this generation continues to exceed expectations. They show up with empathy, curiosity, and a genuine desire to make things better. They see problems and immediately begin imagining solutions, working together with purpose and heart. Watching them lead with compassion reminds us why this work matters so deeply, and it leaves us feeling incredibly hopeful for the future.
